Reviews
Due to the illness of a family member, we had to cancel the trip, 7-8 days before the reservation date. Booking suggested that in our case they return the entire amount that we paid them in advance, and the Hotel refused, although they had enough time to rent our room to someone else and at a higher price, considering that it was the period for and around the new year. Think carefully before paying them anything up front.
This hotel is great if you are looking for a place close to the old city and with the amenities to keep you relaxed. The heated pool and the sauna are open all day long and every room poevides you with a bathrobe and slippers!
The food is good and it has a buffet with both sweet and savory choices, hot and cold too.
The hotel itself has a very cozy lobby with a fireplace and paintings, a place where u can relax. The cute cats that live there is a plus for me! There is also a place with kid toys!
Above all though, the staff is very kind and willing to help. We happened to have a health scare and the staff rushed to our help and provided us with everything we needed.
Thank you for a great stay!
Warm and cozy rooms, polite personnel, but the hotel needs to undergo a renovation to live up to its 4-star rating. The best part are the three cats living in the hotel and greeting the guests with purrs.
I see lots of reviews here that are quite positive, but either the standards in Bulgaria for 4* hotels are much lower than in the rest of Western Europe, USA, Australia or this isn't a 4* hotel. As advertised, it has some of the amenities …
Pool is small and underground, not outdoors and very little was working - jacuzzi, steam room and hammam were all out of order. Rooms were ok, food not inspired. I guess it was reasonable value for money (it was offseason) and nothing was …
The worst experience of my life including a Hotel.
5 or 6 times was impossible even to enter the room because of a “card issue “. So we spent couple of hours waiting for the problem to be fixed.
The only good thing in this hotel was the prettiest front office girls. :)
This hotel deserves max 3 stars, not 4, I think. There were some things that ruined our experience (during our stay in the superior apartment) such as:
- Under the shower you have to wait for a warm water. And freeze in the process. Then warm water goes, but not hot.
- Spa tube in the room fills slowly and only with warm water, not hot, so that limits the max temperature of it and during the process you have to wait in the cold.
- There is a really bad smell coming from the restaurant, I think, next to the spa.
- Steam bath is not as good as in hotels we've visited for cheaper or the same price. It is half the steam you expect from a steam bath.
- There were a lot of stink bugs in our bedroom and it smelled terribly during our stay. We were extremely annoyed and leaved hotel for the 2nd night. Maybe that's normal considering the mountain atmosphere, but you should keep it in mind.
- The mechanism with card for unlocking the room doesn't work properly. We had to try again and again every time until it turns green.
However there were nice things that left us with positive feelings overall towards our stay. The apartment is big, it has a great view and the backlight in the big spa tube is great. The pool is great if there are not many people there. The hotel has a good location as well.
The staff is really friendly, the prices are great and the rooms are warm. However, unfortunately the hotel is not 4 stars. Probably it used to be back when it was founded but in reality it’s 3 stars. Other than this our stay was completely fine.
